When it comes to magick and the occult, there is no “dabbling”: you either commit yourself to it fully and accept that achieving true mastery it is an ongoing process that will hugely shape your entire life or you fail to see any notable result. Mainstream society and religion either ridicules magick, saying that it’s a foolish superstition of ages gone by, or vilifies it, saying that it’s evil and it will lead you to damnation. If you are not able to fully let go of these preconceptions, you’ll fail. Realize that your awareness of the truth about magick allows you  to aspire to heights that those who don’t believe in it or fear it will never be able to achieve, and laugh at them.

Think about it: even if you want to use magick to help others, it’s still a form of power; you need power to change their condition for the better.

You must understand this in order to be successful with your practical magick; you must come to terms with the realization that there is nothing inherently wrong in wanting to be the master of your own destiny. In fact, you DESERVE it!
